She met her husband, William (Bill) Mc Donald, while he was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. Bill brought his southern belle bride to his hometown of Peosta, IA where they built a home and family.

Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, with his grandson, Rev. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa with full military honors afforded by the Cascade American Legion Post #528.

He is an Army Veteran, having served in World War II in the South Pacific as an Army Engineer. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 25 years and also helped to manage a hotel in Cedar Rapids.

Gilman Palmer Budar, 79, of Dubuque, formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Unity Point Health-Finley Hospital. Hoffmann-Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service 3860 Asbury Rd is assisting the family with local arrangements. His beloved wife preceded him in death March 9, 2001.
